What is Creature Weekend 2013?
Creature Weekend is Cambridge, Ohio's second annual Cryptozoology Conference which will be held at the Salt Fork State Park Lodge and Conference Center on May 3-5, 2013.
What is Cryptozoology?
Cryptozoology is the study of hidden animals, i.e. animals that have yet to be identified by science or thought to have been long extinct. Bigfoot, Dogmen, The Abominable Snowman, The Loch Ness Monster, Thunderbirds and many other mysterious and elusive creatures fall into this category.

For those of you interested in signing up for the FREE Midnight Bigfoot Lantern Tour and the Creature Safari and Squatchin' Workshops, you may sign up at the registration desk at the Creature Weekend Conference starting at 2pm on Saturday, May 4. The registration desk will be located in the lower level of the Salt Fork State Park Lodge near the Ballroom.

- Online Poster and T-Shirt ordering is now closed. However, we will have limited availability of T-shirts and Posters at the conference.
- Advance sale registration for the conference is now closed. We will have tickets available at the door for the conference.
- The Private Dinner with the speakers scheduled for Friday Night is SOLD OUT.
CONFERENCE UPDATES (4/20/2013)
Thanks to all those that have signed up for the Creature Safari and Squatchin' Workshops. The workshops start at 10AM on Sunday, May 5 and will run about 60-90 minutes. We will cover various aspects of track casting, evidence collection, call blasting and wood knocking. The instructors will explain the significance of these methods of collecting evidence as well as demonstrate the proper technique. We will be taking small groups of people into the field, starting at 10AM and the last group will be at 2pm. When you arrive, we will assign you a group and a guide. Don't forget to wear comfortable clothing and shoes!
CONFERENCE UPDATES (4/19/2013)
Since we have received numerous requests for the ability for Conference Attendees to reserve their posters and T-shirts in advance, we have decided to make them available for purchase online via paypal. If you purchase a T-shirt or Poster, we will hold your items for you at the registration table when you check in for the conference on Saturday. However, we must receive your order by April 24th in order to reserve your items for you.
CONFERENCE UPDATES (4/15/2013)
As we head into the final stretch here are a couple things to keep in mind:
- Tickets for the Private Dinner with the Speakers will be advance sale only. We will NOT be selling any tickets at the door for this event.
- If you would like to purchase advance sale tickets for the conference, we must receive your registration form and payment by April 26th. If we have any seats left, we will offer them for sale at the door on the day of the conference, but since we expect that it will be VERY busy, we urge folks not to wait until the last minute. You may be disappointed if you show up for the conference and all of the seats are already sold out!

A big thanks goes out to Thomas Finley for his donation of a beautiful set of limited edition conference cards to Creature Weekend 2013! We just received these and they are soon-to-be collectors items. They are an excellent way for conference attendees to collect signatures from all of the speakers. The front of the card features a hand-drawn scene depicting an awkward moment between a researcher and the Cryptid he's searching for! Since these are special edition and only available in limited quantities, we have decided to give them to the people who have sent in their registration and payment for RESERVED seating at the Creature Weekend 2013 Conference. It's our way of saying THANKS to the good folks who supported the conference last year and are coming back to another fun-filled Creature Weekend!

By popular demand, we have added some vegetarian options to the Friday Night Dinner. You now have a choice of prime rib or vegetable wellington, fresh veggies and tomato basil sauce baked in a puff pastry shell. This vegetarian option will come with side dishes. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like the vegetarian option instead of the Prime Rib dinner.

It's hard to believe we are only months away from another exciting Creature Weekend Conference! Last year, our conference was an incredible success. Thanks to our All-Star lineup of speakers, dedicated volunteers and perhaps the finest audience that any conference could hope for, we hosted a spectacular program in front of a full house at Salt Fork State Park -- Not bad for our first year! With our guided tours of Salt Fork's Bigfoot Hotspots, and free workshops on choosing wildlife surveillance equipment, collecting and analyzing evidence, and casting tracks, we raised the bar on conferences at Salt Fork and had a lot of fun doing it! It was an educational and fun event that the attendees are still talking about almost a year later. As they say, the rest is history... and if you want to be part of history in the making at Salt Fork, please join us for Creature Weekend 2013!

Pat Spain - You know him as the intrepid host of the National Geographic Channel's Cryptozoology Reality Show, "Beast Hunter". On this show, we followed Pat as he traveled the world, investigating sighting reports and looking for mysterious monsters. Now, he has arrived at Salt Fork to share his experiences and adventures, both in front of and behind the camera. What really did happen during his expedition to search for the elusive wild man of Sumatra??? This is a rare opportunity that you will not want to miss!
David Paulides - The author of "Tribal Bigfoot", "The Hoopa Project", and the popular book series, "Missing 411 - Eastern United States:Unexplained Disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved", "Missing 411 - Western United States and Canada:Unexplained Disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved" and the upcoming "Missing 411 - North America and beyond", Dave Paulides has spent the last several years researching missing persons reports at state and national parks all over the US and Canada. During the course of his investigation, he discovered some peculiar patterns that seem to indicate that these disappearances may not be so random and may involve foul play. Who or what could be responsible?? If you have been fortunate enough to hear his interviews on the "Coast to Coast" radio show, you know that his missing persons stories are bone chilling. Dave was also instrumental in bringing the Bigfoot DNA project to fruition. The project, led by Dr. Melba Ketchum, involved analyzing hundreds of Bigfoot DNA samples. Upon mapping out the Bigfoot DNA, Dr. Ketchum made some startling discoveries which Dave will be sharing with us at the conference. Join us for Dave's first appearance at Salt Fork!
R. Scott Nelson - Scott Nelson was a trained Crypto-linguist for the United States Navy. His job in the Navy was decoding encrypted transmissions. With his extensive background in languages, he realized that the bigfoot vocalizations that have been recorded by various researchers contain a structure which is consistent with some sort of language. In other words, these bigfoot vocalizations may be part of a larger communication system that these creatures use to interact with members of their own species. Listen to what Scott has to say about his research and you will be surprised at what you will learn.
Ron Morehead - On the Friday night of the conference, we will be hosting a private dinner with the speakers. A limited number of tickets will be available to the public for this event and our special guest presenter will be Ron Morehead. Ron will be discussing his life's work, researching Bigfoot in the Sierra Nevadas, as well as his recent adventures in South America. Please note, Ron's presentation is for Friday night only; he will not be speaking at the conference on Saturday.
And last but not least, Billy Willard and Doug Waller are back by popular demand! Billy and Doug are active Creature Weekend volunteers who will be discussing recent sighting reports in their respective areas. Their presentations were so engaging, that they were asked to come back for additional "Microphone time" at this year's conference. Billy Willard, Director of Sasquatch Watch of Virginia, will be discussing recent sightings and encounters in his home state of Virginia. Doug Waller, Director of the Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigations and local Cambridge Bigfoot Researcher, will be talking about the most recent Bigfoot Activity at Salt Fork.
